A new apartment building proposed in the Kerns Neighborhood of NE Portland. Once completed, this project will act as the transition between the busy commercial strip of Sandy Boulevard and the quiet, tree-lined streets of the residential neighborhood. Acting as a step-down between the busy, taller and higher density neighbors to the North; this new three-story wood-framed building aims to reflect the more traditional elements of the century-old homes to the South while simultaneously having contemporary moments that reflect the current epoch. This new development will provide 19 residences where there was only one, which helps reduce the need for further sprawl into the farms and forests and will provide the proper density needed to sustain neighborhood restaurants and grocery stores.
